Ultraviolet

紫外線

The light no one can see. A neon synthwave brawler in a city that ranks people by their glow.

Three outcasts the system calls worthless — a berserker, a blade dancer, and a machine that learned to grieve — fight from the slums to the sky.

Vox City, 2189, stands over the drowned ruins of Osaka Bay. The Spectrum Authority turned frequency into a caste. Gold rules the spires. Cyan and Crimson hold the middle. Violets are swept into the Underlevel. The meters stop at violet. Ultraviolet, the band just above, reads as zero. The ones they ranked worthless burn brighter than anything the instruments can measure.

Raiden is force. Sakura is precision. Kurogane was built to hunt them, and kept the record of every name. They finish on a rooftop facing the golden tower, violet, pink and cyan braided into one beam.

Story mode climbs in three acts. The city ends on the Samurai Warlord. A haunted forest ends on the Mutant Frog King, and a ring of light opens. Above the clouds, the Archon. Base Defense is the other mode: hold the base, build the towers, and every fifth wave brings a boss.

From the game

“They told the Violets they didn't register. They were wrong.”
“Every uprising starts the same way: someone the world called nothing decides not to believe it.”

The characters

Raiden — the ultraviolet berserker
Raiden

Force. He breaks the door. The Authority dragged him out of the fight pits to bottle his light. It broke the wrong way. The violet veins are his real signal, and the sword only exists when his heart is pounding. He started fighting for something the day he met her.

Sakura — the neon blade dancer
Sakura

Precision. She walks through the door he breaks. Ranked Cyan, until she stole a naginata so soaked in ultraviolet that no soldier could hold it. Her hands didn't shake. She was never Cyan. She chose this life, and she chose him.

Kurogane — the ghost in the machine
Kurogane

A weapon that learned to grieve. Built with no signal at all, and aimed at the slums. He kept every name he was ordered to delete, painted them onto his own chassis, and turned the Authority's techniques back on the cage. He fights for the people, and for the machines locked the same way.
